Dear Monie of Last Week,
Hey Girl.
How are you doing? How are you feeling?
Has anyone checked in on you yet? Has anyone reached out?
I want to tell you something real and real quick.
As the future you. You of the present moment, I want to tell you that your decision is valued. That we, as you living with the consequences of the decision you are about to make, will continue to love you.
You choose to love babe. And unfortunately, love did not receive you back.
You choose to trust and trust was less than honest and open enough to hold on to you.
You choose new and although it dressed in sparkles of compassion and drapes of a hopeful future, it disregarded asking you simply... "What is it you'd like out of this?"
I heard you when you repeated yourself. I heard you when you had to clarify. I heard you when you drew it out, color-coordinated it, and pined the location of your heart.
I also heard when your efforts were not reciprocated.
The promises with no follow-through.
So here I am. Again, with your something real and real quick.
Reminding you that you are loved. Valued and BEAUTIFUL.
The new, less honest, and not so trustworthy qualities of the one who wished for forever may have sounded "good" but we've done our research.
Concluding nothing of progressive significant value was found here.
That we must continue to strive for that in which match and or excel us.
We swerve to our left and move around that in which stood in our way briefly.
We have repented and asked for clarity.
No need for us to shrink in size to fit when we were made to grow the roof off.
